On December 3rd, the third and fourth grades of Gleinstätten Middle School had the exciting opportunity to attend an English theatre performance at the Cultural Center in Leibnitz. The play “Rob and the Hoodies” was showcased by native speakers from Vienna’s English Theatre.
Based on the legendary tale of Robin Hood, this modern and humorous adaptation captivated the young audience. It used language that young people could understand and included topics relevant to today´s youth, such as bullying and peer pressure. The play highlighted an important message: true strength lies in standing together and supporting one another.
The students enjoyed the performance and learned something important at the same time. It was a great way to experience English in a fun and interesting way.
Before and after watching the play, students prepared and reviewed it in various ways. They read the script to understand the story and the characters. Furthermore, the students got the opportunity to act out some parts of the scenes to make the learning process more enjoyable. Through this, they could explore their creativity, express themselves, and work together as a team.
